How can I go to Heaven when I die?

Basically, there are only four things you must know to go to Heaven.

(1) You must realize that you are a

      sinner.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

                                         Romans 3:23

Notice what the verse states “…all have sinned…” not some or many, but “…all have sinned…” My friend, there is no exception outside of Jesus Christ. Every person on the face of God’s earth has sinned, including me and you.

(2) You must realize that sin must be

      punished.

“For the wages of sin is death;

                                          Romans 6:23a

That simply means that we as sinners owe a debt for our sins, which is death. Just like a criminal must be punished for the crimes he commits, we as sinners must be punished for the sins we commit, and that punishment is death.

This death not only includes a physical death, but also a second death, which is eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire or Hell.

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

                                         Revelation 21:8

First, we must realize that we are a sinner. Second, we must realize that the punishment for our sins is not only a physical death, but also a second death separated from God for eternity in the Lake of Fire or Hell.

(3) You must realize that Jesus suffered

your Hell on the cross for you.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

                                            Romans 5:8

You just read a moment ago that “…the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23a) Again, that means that we as sinners owe a debt for our sins, which is death and eternal separation from God in the Lake of Fire or Hell. But notice the last four words of Romans 5:8 “…Christ died for us.” That means that Jesus paid our sin debt for us when He died on the cross. In other words, He suffered our Hell, on the cross and paid the penalty of sin for us. He died for us, was buried and rose again the third day.

(4) You must realize that eternal life

      comes only through Jesus Christ.

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

                                          Romans 6:23b

God says that eternal life is a gift. However, no gift will become yours until you are willing to receive it, no matter how free the gift is. Notice how you receive eternal life, “…through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Not through baptism, church membership, good works, communion, confession, keeping the Law or even tithing. My friend, eternal life only comes when you trust Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.

Let’s Review:

(1) You must realize that you are a

       sinner.

(2) You must realize that sin must be

       punished.

(3) You must realize that Jesus suffered

your Hell on the cross for you.

(4) You must realize that eternal life

      comes only through Jesus Christ.

My friend, if you understand these four simple truths and you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and go to Heaven when you die, God says,

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

                                         Romans 10:13

Why not right where you are, just simply bow your head and call upon Jesus, asking Him to forgive your sins and take you to Heaven when you die. He promised to do so if you would simply ask Him. Why not make the following prayer your prayer?

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you died for me, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Please forgive my sins and save my soul from Hell and take me to Heaven when I die. I now trust you Jesus as my Saviour. In Jesus name amen.

If you just now sincerely called upon Jesus in prayer and accepted Him as your personal Saviour, you now have eternal life!

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

                                           I John 5:11,12

My friend, as you can plainly see from the Scriptures, eternal life is in Jesus. Therefore, if you have Jesus as your personal Saviour, you have eternal life. But if you do not have Jesus as your personal Saviour, you do not have eternal life. (I John 5:11,12)

Dear friend, do not depend upon your feelings for the assurance of your salvation, but rather God’s Word. Your feelings will change from day to day even as the weather changes, but God’s Word never changes.

If you have trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour as a result of reading this page, please let us know that we may rejoice with you!
